Thank You Acme you have a Customer for life 8 people found this helpful. I checked the tires last fall and after 12000 miles, the front tires are wearing more in the centre of the tread, than the outside, Maybe I should start running at 65 psi.

It can mount in the car for normal everyday driving,  but then move it to the RV when towing the car.The Schrader unit and directions aren’t very user friendly. When we got home, I decided to look into it and see whats going on.

READ ALL OWNERS BOOKS BEFORE USING THIS DOLLY. Now apply the wheel straps. Not ground.The dolly coupler should be between 12 to 16 inches off the ground to the bottom of the coupler. I installed metal stems, added a bit more beads for balance and ran them many thousands of miles prior to switching to flat towing when I bought a new tow vehicle.

USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE WHEN TOWING A LOADED CAR TOW DOLLY. I don’t think the leak was from the axle seal,  but was coming from the o-ring that sits under the stainless sleeve.During my disassembly,  I noted there was plenty of grease (oil) in the axle and bearings and the bearings look ok.put the o-ring on the axle,  then put a very thin coat of black RTV around the o-ring.Slide the sleeve onto the axle as far as it will go, line up the grease hole.

Be sure to properly bolt the ramps in place. No thumps, no sound, no feel, nothing.This same problem is with a 4 down,  there is no indication of a blown tire, or hung brake (heat).Adding a TPMS specifically for the TOAD/Dolly solved this problem. The Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12" Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range E # AM31215 will fit your Acme EZE tow dolly based on their spec sheet. Acme recommends against this as it keeps the brakes applied on the dolly. I was able to get the bolts out,  but it was a real %$%&#*@#(.When the calipers are off,  remove the spring clip and the caliper slide will slide out of the housing.Don’t forget to clean the pins and the bushings, then put a very thin coating of caliper lube on the pins.I did not use lock-tight when I reassembled. Make certain that the coupler is securely tightened.Your  “EZE-TOW” Tow Dolly requires very little maintenance.The Disc brakes never need adjusting but they will wear out. Two items that I’ll point out that will save you some frustration.1) When you are learning the sensors,  get the receiver ready, then let a little air out of the tire that is being learned. It may take 30-60 seconds for the tir3es sensor to start transmitting so be a little patient and wait for the beep. Soooo, its a tow dolly for us. I mention this because I installed TPMS transmitters inside the Acme wheels (and the back wheels of the Camry) and monitor both pressure and internal temperature of the dolly and Camry tires while towing. They ended up having to wait a day while a spare was located. They provided replacement parts for the axle (seals grease, etc) under the warranty.I determined that the leak was coming from the back side of the hub. It was obvious the left side was leaking from the inner seal.Looking at the brake pads,  On the left side, the outer pad was worn almost to the metal, the inner pad was worn about 1/2 through its life. Not something I wanted to happen on the highway and the loss if tire pressure would be sudden. 14 inches works for most people. Our dolly will easily tuck under the rear of most coaches about 85%. They have automotive grade sipes in the tread to give you excellent traction even in wet conditions.

I purchased a used one year old Acme EZE-TOW dolly last year, it came with surge brakes and a spare tire.
