Also, is there any information on this as if people with ASPD are more prone to ADHD or Bipolar or maybe the other way around? How common is the treatment for commorbid Bipolar and ADHD? I recommend finding a different doctor that has more experience treating bipolar disorder. Maybe even all three of them? And when the two of them occur together, it can be downright dangerous. I'm not ADHD (my daughter is) and I have the same thing. I'm currently only on lamotrigine and adding back lithium because I was starting (am starting) to get hypomanic. I could get treated for both but it would take the top doctors in the United States and even the people who I'm seeing now (who are great but not top) are very reluctant to treat my ADHD.Coma vai? But the treatment wasn't working because they weren't addressing the real problem, that I was bipolar, not just depressed and anxious with ADHD. When I'm stabilized, my ADHD-type symptoms remit by about 60%.If you can't get ADHD meds, you will need to tackle things on your own; exercise, eat well (low carb helps some of us), meditate, etc. I'm taking lithium(900mg) Ativan(30mg) and Seroquel(100mg), the last is killing me, my muscles hurt and everything, I just want to sleep. It's a very tricky situation so my advice is only to see the best doctors. Until the doc is convinced you are balanced on the stabilizers, they're going to be VERY hesitant to prescribe a stimulant, and even then they're going to want to be conservative.It does suck, though. Although, I'm abnormally sensitive to stimulants - my pdoc had me switch to decaf to even out my mood.My doctor does not even prescribe me lamotrigine anymore. Things escalated quickly then and I had a major manic episode and was "sectioned" and diagnosed with bipolar 2. That's what they tried to do with me when I was first diagnosed at 14 after multiple hospitalizations and suicide attempts.
