I would charge it, then top up the electrolyte with distilled in that order.They are charged at the factory, but, look at the "round date sticker" on the battery. I hope the new ones last half as long as the old ones. Keep a tender on them and they will last.Battery lasted only 5 months on my boat, and then WalMart would not honor the warranty, expected me to pay a prorated amount of $55 for a battery I paid $59.97 for 5 months earlier, receipt in hand. and we have not verified it. I can troll around, not constantly, for 3-4 hours on a charge so far.
