The ferns were already large. They don't like dry heat. 15 gallons, circa 20 watts, no fertz, no CO2, lights on for around 13 hours/day, temp 28 oC. You can still grow ferns indoors, even in the desert, if you keep the conditions in your home hospitable. They don't like being brought inside for the winter, as most houses are very dry indoors in the winter because of the furnace.
