SOs are balanced by their cost, and in games where you all build up and then attack without early game harassment, cost matters very little.Certain civs are designed to excel in a late game environment and while the Mayans aren't bad in that situation, they are not great either.Either you harass your enemy early, which is against your favored ruleset, or you switch over to a different civ from your favored civ.Aye, guess there wasn't much I could do.

You should also target with your eagles reinforcements of SO ofc.Sure in games where only pop cap matter and the enemy fields tons of SO + support there's not much you can do anymore with a lot civs (and not just Mayans). O and one of them is playing as the koreans so he has that extra range for his onagers. They don't get Bombard Cannons or even Onagers, meaning their late game strength will be very weak on BF.
