I have hearing problems, and I couldn't get subtitles so I had a hard time following some of this (it's been eons since I read it). Much of the plot remained the same as the novel, though the adaptation made a few changes: The characters of Carrie and Odell Gardener, Inspector Colgate and Dr Neasdon are omitted. You can see in the faraway shot how next to the fence two guys are working by the goat.
