I just spent some time in Galilee where Jesus called the disciples by the sea , it only make sense because there, they had first hand experience with Jesus Jesus chose Galilee to show them how they will also join Him in the Kingdom of God.

Another reason for the meeting in Gallilee I believe was to fulfill his promise to them, made at the Passover, that he will meet them in Galilee Then, when they went to Galilee, He did not lead them into a synagogue or even into a house, but to a mountain.
