I looked at the “best if used by” date on the carton an saw that it was a few days past the date. February 4, 2019
The problem started when I had my gallbladder, but continued after I had my gallbladder out (I was hoping that would be the end of it, too).
By process of elimination they realized it was the eggs from my bantam chickens and not my standard size chickens.Wow, that is specific! However, fructose intolerance isn’t as common as lactose intolerance.Fruit, vegetables and pulses can cause gas, but eating several portions of these a day is much more important than eliminating wind. It wasn’t until around October when I ate a basic piece of wheat toast with an egg over easy, that it finally clicked. And you are definatley onto something!
its almost immediate.Oh man, that sucks! HELP.That sounds so awful, I wish I had an answer for you! Aging is stupid!I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but many of you may have a genetic CBS snp that makes it difficult for you to process sulfur foods.I was made to eat eggs as a small child and threw up / got headaches every time. It seems obvious after you figure it out, but nobody talks about egg sensitivity!
Had eggs this morning and feeling sick within an hour. Thanks for your post. I know I cannot eat dried fruit with sulfur dioxide it makes me unbearably sick. I have been searching for years.
It took me awhile to realize it was the eggs I ate for breakfast every Friday. They may continue for 4 to 7 days. For me its related to generalized inflammation… Eggs seem to make it worse. bile still gets produced when we eat cholesterol/fat food. By contrast, no Japanese eggs have ever given me this problem, and we’re talking 5+ trips now… Australian food production is crapola.I forgot to say that this includes any product with eggs in it, like mayo or baked goods. But really, any fast-food chain breakfast sandwich seems to be OK.I cannot, however, eat breakfast sandwiches from our local bagel place, which really bums me out, because we order from there almost every weekend.
I can’t wait to try fresh eggs and I hope I can tolerate them! That person left her comment a few years ago, so I’m not sure she’ll respond. Also, when cooking at home, carefully scrub the utensils used for making food items containing egg. The eggs were fresh. I’ve also made my own bagelFinally I have found my people! This is so strange… I had one over easy organic egg and a well done regular cheap eggs in the last two weeks.
If you are experiencing upset stomach after eating one too many raw eggs, then perhaps you might be lacking the ability to digest the raw egg proteins.Would you like to write for us? Nausea, headache, hot flashes (but no temperature). Remove all eggs from his life, in case others start to bother him? I didn’t realize that the way it’s cooked might matter until recently when my mom pointed out that I’m good with her “Dutch Baby” pancakes (thin, fried) and fried eggs, but scrambled or poached can be a problem.
Bye!Sounds like you’re in exactly the same situation I am: if they’re cooked well enough, they don’t bother you. Some recent news from a friend told me that after YEARS of eating eggs, she met with her doctor to find that the albimum ( egg white) coats the inside of your gut. I’m Glad I’m not the only one who has noticed this about themselves.I disscovered this problem on a cruise. Thanks again! Thank you so much for bringing this to light. So nauseous. I will try eating a really fresh egg and see how it works. But I quit after four days because there was no change. Unfortunately, the eggs I had today were upright…but not floating. And no, I wasn’t sick and or treated with antibiotics before the trip. :D). Or it’s the way these factory farms are sanitizing the eggs. Chickens in their natural habitat eat insects, bugs, seeds, small stones, etc. A friend of mine who I give eggs to told me some of her kids get sick on my eggs. Also, I was allergy tested and tested no reaction to eggs!
All of a sudden I can’t eat scrambled eggs anymore.
As you also said the pain is definitely NOT heart burn or indigestion. I’ll have to start marking our chickens eggs for when we bring them in and make sure they are only the most fresh ones.
Thank you so much for your comments. It was weird, though, to develop an egg allergy as an adult. Thank you glad to hear I’m not alone. We recently got our own hens, I was so excited with the prospect of free range, organic fresh eggs daily. So if age really is the culprit, we’re talking about an amount of time that’s a lot smaller than this test can determine. If I had the patience, I would buy several dozen eggs with the same dates and eat one a day until I got sick, to determine how old an egg could be before it affected me. The weird thing is when I am able to eat an egg without getting sick it is random but I rejoice.
I CAN eat hard-boiled or scrambled eggs just fine. I wonder if the McDonald’s sausage egg and cheese McMuffin I ate this morning and flushed down the toilet by noon is made with eggs and milkI can drink milk, eat cheese, etc., but oddly enough, I can’t eat the FROZEN dairy, like ice cream and milkshakes. I can eat bread, cakes, pancakes, pizza, until I’m blue in the face and have no problem. I’m so sad!For me I’ve found that around two weeks after the 3-digit date on the carton is about it. Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit out for between 30 minutes and 3 hours. Funny thing is I’ve visited in Europe, London and Ireland specifically, and had a breakfast with eggs included and did not get sick at all! But sometimes, this very popular food can give you a … I wonder how this product is made?
I think it has to do with what the chickens are fed.I’m 21 and I have the exact same issue! .
I don’t experience any other symptoms, (bloating, cramps, skin reactions, stomach pains, etc..) just this sour feeling in my mouth and running to the bathroom I go. Try white eggs.
And yea eating eggs when used as an ingredient is fine for me, but not scrambled.Thank you for your post.
