I don't know. I have the co set to 12 and adjusted the idle to 1960 with the throttle  stop set screw.

When rpm drops below that level,  fueling starts again so the engine won't stall. As I do long distance riding in bfe, liking the reviews on the WR's fuel range.

It didnt change anything. Its pretty rough and my clutch friction zone is very small so I spend my time jumping and lurching. It helps to clear the ghosts out of the stepper motor setup. The lower gearing made a huge difference in overall performance of the bike especially if you do any off road riding. Going the extreme either way seems to make the idle rough. In 2007 they changed the throttle bodies and went to the dual-plug system.

Even the trusty old carb'd DRZ400S is very lean stock and needs a jet kit. Doc_d hit the nail on the head - the biggest selling point IMO is that they do not need to comply with volume EPA regs.
