You can test pop off pressure by taking the chuck off a pedestal bicycle pump and forcing the hose over the nipple on the carb.

I decided to do a pop off pressure test before i rebuilt and put new springs in considering that it ran well before so why change pop off pressure. You must log in or register to reply here. The reason for adjusting in that order is because several fuel circuits contribute to the total fuel delivery of the carburetor.

I believe you should just get the 115gram springs, find out what the pop off pressure is in each of the carbs and then match them to the lowest one. The pressure reached on the gauge when the needle gives way is called the pop off pressure.

There are 4 general strengths of springs - the less the spring is rated the lower the pop-off pressure will need to be to unseat the needle. The pop off you state (43 PSI) is a dull siver 95 gr spring and 1.5 N&S combo, The 760 should have a gold 115 gr spring and 1.5 N&S that is factory spec. The heavier the spring is, and the smaller the needle size is, the bigger the pop off value is. ProfessionalsInnova
