The VP9 is Heckler & Koch’s latest, and most successful pistol design. I really like this sight combination. Big bonus- the VP9 and P30 use the same mag (which will also fit the USPc and P2000). I though I got a good deal. Still, the VP9’s trigger, out of the box, is widely regarded as being superior to the Glock or Smith & Wesson M&P’s trigger, which is something you may expect out of high quality German engineering.Another feature of the VP9, and something that is very unique to it, is the charging ports that stick out of the side of the rear of the slide. The VP9 has a 5.5-pound trigger pull, with light takeup, minimal creep and a solid trigger reset.

This is coming from someone who sent his HK45 and P30 into Grayguns to have the trough eliminated.Just saying I am in that very, very small percentage of population that has that problem and it is something to look out for if you have smaller than average hands.Most folks I know don't have that problem, us Hobbits do.Though I don't have big hands, I actually found the VP9 and P30 more comfortable to shoot using the medium sidestraps and large backstraps. I got spoiled. The VP9, released in 2014, is a polymer-framed, striker-fired pistol intended as a budget model among H&Ks other guns, some of which get pretty pricey, but without the DA/SA operation that most of their pistols currently run on. By going to a striker fired mechanism, the height of the VP9's slide is reduced and the backstrap extends higher and a tad deeper.
