I just can't decide how high above the toilet the first shelf should be or the spacing between shelves. A cabinet or shelf above a toilet should be about 2 feet above the tank. Thanks to these great tips, this just might finally be the weekend that I put them up. Ha! A wooden shelf with slats or backboards allows for hanging and displaying hand drawings, pictures, post cards and notes along bath items on the bottom part of the shelf. My toilet sits 10' from the wall, but we never had a problem. I don’t have a one size fits all measurement for that unfortunately.Came for how high to hang the towel bar.
