how to remove lg ice maker

Help!!Mr. Ice maker mechanics are all working fine.

Hard to say what exactly caused this issue, but maybe it related to the optical sensor on your ice maker. Water pressures normal as dispensed from water dispenser and ‘occasionally’ to ice tray.

I had LG out to my house and they wanted to replace the left door and if that didn’t fix the issue, replace the circuit board…all at my cost. Any thoughts?Seems like microswitch failed. So I don’t understand if my water inlet valve is the problem, how can I be getting water to my water dispenser but not to the ice maker. We have been unable to get an LG service person to our area. And yes, inlet valve can be partially clogged by calcium deposits. Pulled out some big chunks of ice in the freezer section too.

I replaced a valve at the bottom rear of the unit (AJU72992601) where the water from the wall plugs in. I also noticed that the ice plus function doesn’t appear to be working- I used to hear a fan kick in when I pressed it but no longer hear it. You will see locking tabs is worn out and not keep the lever in place. -20C is -4F, and -4F is what LG says on their web site for minimum recommended temperature for ice making.

And if the door is left open the alarm goes off.I moved the wires around going down into the door from the top and the problem got worse ( not filling at all now). Should I replace ice maker or board first? Some goes into the ice bin causing the ice to clump, and some goes down the right side and freezes under the bin. after replaced the ice maker fan. The freezer itself appears to be working fine otherwise.

I’ve tried a few things you’ve suggested here including dropping freezer temp (from 0 to now -6 F) and cleaning the ice maker. Just put the lever back into locking tabs and try to press it, water should be going. Wanted to say that as of only YESTERDAY was everything finally sorted out! Do you know what could be the problem? We’re constantly having to beat the ice with a wooden spoon. Refills fine BUT will not rotate to release the ice. Icemaker COMPLETELY RELIES on the freezer temperature.

Thanks for the picture, that’s what mine looks like…..I’ll keep an eye on it as well as the water drip, perhaps a cube or two got away from the bucket itself. I have tried resetting refrigerator by unplugging it as well.Yes, if you found a little bit of water in the tray, something wrong with the water line or fill tube or inlet valve.
