For anyone who still isn't familiar with this long running series, it's a pretty standard police procedural with the added element of Alex being a psychologist who consults for the LAPD, and any of them can be read as standalones. I'm not sure which one. Gruesome, but boring. I usually love Alex Delaware novels because I love the characters, and the story is usually a true psychological thriller, but this one was just plain boring.
