All my expectations were subverted and the trailer does the film no justice. Kai has trouble telling his parents the complicated feelings he has for them, and he's lonely and pessimistic about his school life. As Kai spends more time with Lu, he finds he is able to tell her what he is really thinking, and a bond begins to form. The story kinda fell apart in the middle and made some weird choices that made 0 sense just to get a dramatic finish.The movie was had a really low budget on key moments, dance scenes sometimes only had 2 frames. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition under his belt, as a fan you come to expect his odd-ball style, interwoven with underlying existentialism that Yuasa is noted for.
