When entering an area of a legendary animal, sometimes I get a message like the following: You have entered legendary animal territory, but there is too much activity to track the animal Is this . No quest lines show on the maps and I've tried killing all of the gators around.

As I approached the legendary animal area, it alerted me that I should look for clues, etc.Leave the area and return later. spoiler. RDR2: How to Hunt Legendary Animals when there is too much activity in the area . I can't prove it yet but I may have a new explaination about this uber-annoying message. I tried giving it time, setting up camp and sleeping overnight... but what ended up working for me was to save the game and reload. Best bet is to always go away and camp or do whatever until 72 game hours have passed. You're browsing the GameFAQs Message Boards as a guest. EDIT AGAIN: I finally was able to hunt it, I just rode around the swamps and looted some buildings.

I could be wrong, but I've noticed it only happens with Legendary Herbivores (White Bison, Buck, etc.) "We must be very careful what we pretend to be, because we are what we pretend to be. Also when entering a legendary area, always look at the top left of the screen and read the last line of the message.

Too much activity, when hunting legendary buck Howdy Stranger! The lowest time that's worked for me was 2 minutes. Maybe I already cleared it out unknowingly.
If an area is not used for a while, it gets overwritten in memory by the game, and will "re-roll".
