I swapped out VSS (new), two times instrument clusters (used), PCM (used).
Just Bought This Truck, Speedo & Odometer Do Not Work. Common problems include, a faulty sensor, bad wiring, or dial malfunctions.

If there is a gear tooth or whatever at the speedometer gauge that may be broken or a gear etc in between the speedometer/odometer that may have a broken off tooth and thus why the clicking noise and the odometer mileage not working. Okay. I would remove the cable and check to make sure it turns when the vehicle moves. The ECU (engine control unit) converts the driveshaft’s rotation speed to the vehicle’s linear speed and then passes the information to the speedometer. Everything else in the instrument cluster is working fine. It's also a great time to upgrade your cluster lighting and throw in a couple of LEDs. In the DIC, the range and instant MPG are not working either. The speedometer doesn’t even move from zero, no bouncing around or anything.
