As one who has been trying to learn whatever I can about Islam becuse I feel that it is imperative that Americans, especially, try to educate themselves at this time rather than just accepting whatever garbage is tossed about over the Internet regarding Muslims, I must say that this video was very enlightening for me.
This movie does a decent job of portraying the conditions under which Islam was born but it does gloss over a few details here and there. This director gets around it by showing other characters and only suggesting the presence of Muhammad by having the camera take his point of view and playing soothing music. Old but decent movie on a topic that doesn't have many.
One of my favorite movies. Saudi Arabia is set for its first release of an Arabic film, the restored version of controversial 1976 prophet Muhammad epic "The Message." Then follows the story of the adult life of Muhammad to the return to Makkah, the destruction of the idols in the Kaaba and the restoration of the holy place to the worship of the one God.
Now it is available on DVD, with the magic of the original film and performances not being lost.
Obviously this is an old movie and seems like a throwback to the old Hollywood epics like The Ten Commandments. Amazing insight into the beginning of Islam and the persecution of early muslims. The English disc does not play and says it only plays on region b and my player is English!
