The combination of director Akira Kurosawa and actor Toshiro Mifune were responsible for some of the greatest films Japan ever produced. I expected a so so movie and I got a top quality movie that you will want to see again (after the last time). Some twenty years on, the film's influence would have even greater impact on world box offices, when George Lucas borrowed its plot for the first of his Star Wars series. I've owned this movie over the years on VHS and DVD.

From the acclaimed director Takeshi Kitano (Sonatine, Hana-Bi) comes a change of pace - a bizarre, over the top and absurd comedy full of slapstick silliness and never ending gags.An atypically lyrical offering from Takeshi Kitano, charting the course of a relationship between a boy and his girlfriend – both profoundly deaf – when the former decides to teach himself to surf. I bought this movie only because it has Toshiro Mifune in the lead role.

After the Akizuku clan fall in defeat to rival clan Yamana, Princess Yuki (Nagasawa Masami) and general Rokurota (Hiroshi Abe), take cover in a hidden fortress, along with their clan and gold treasury.
